Look At The Adorbs Rennie/Frannie C6DVD I've Received!

Participating in this year's C6DVD exchange (Canadian Six Degrees Valentine's Day), a completely handmade valentine from Renfield Turnbull to Francesca Vecchio showed up in my mailbox. Click on "Read More" to see pics.

Upon opening the envelope, glitter came wafting out and then I removed this card that's shaped like an oven mitt and decorated with hearts.

C6DVD 2015 - front

When opening the card, it looks like two oven mitts holding a tray of chocolate chip cookies. At the top it says "I Love" and at the bottom it says "Miss Francesca Vecchio, Be My Valentine?" and "Yours, Renfield xoxo".

Then each of the cookies has writing underneath, listing the things that go with "I Love" : "your voice, your kind nature, your sparkling eyes, your mischievous heart, your wit and determination, everything about you".

Really lovely awesome valentine, but could you perhaps put the pics under an lj-cut, they're kinda huge? Thanks. :)

Having hella hard time with editing coding in LJ (and pics came out even bigger in DW). *shakes head in consternation*

3:00 AM...must get some sleep...and tomorrow is an early-start day at work. *trundles off to bed in defeat*

Well, I only use the HTML mode and it's just a matter of typing in < lj-cut> where the cut starts and < /lj-cut> at the end (minus the spaces after <, natch). I dunno about dw codes, though.

I know how to HTML code. The problem isn't in original code, it's a problem I have with posting in LJ -- I get rolling screens and frozen cursors a lot, so I crosspost from DW to prevent that, and the LJ-specific code doesn't work from there. I've been trying, rolling screens and frozen cursors and all, to edit the lj-cut into this post. LMK if it worked. If not I'll just delete this whole post.

That really sucks, I didn't know as I've had no trouble with posting to lj as thankfully they didn't mess up HTML mode as much as the other mode. There are several solutions that don't involve you deleting your post, though. You could remove pics and replace them with links to them instead, for one. Or if you can't edit this post then make a new post without the pics (even crossposted from dreamwidth) with links to the pics. Or something completely different, I don't know. But you should definitely complain to lj support and dw support as well; posting and crossposting should work, and they should do something about it if it doesn't.

Also, lj's pic hosting service, as sucky as it, does have the option of you choosing from pics you uploaded to it and it putting them into a new post for you; the advantage there is that the pics can be resized so they're a more normal size in all ways, but if you click on them you can still get to the original sized ones as they'd be linked to each pic.

LJ pic hosting? Is that from the scrapbook function?

TYK for your patience for my "learning curve".

Yes, that's the once-and-now-again scrapbook: http://pics.livejournal.com

Hmmm...I will play around with that some more but not right now at 3:30 AM -- now it's time to sleep.

And if you don't want to put anything after the cut that can be read on the main page, you don't even need the end tag! But yeah, these definitely need to go behind a cut, please.

For several months I've been having a problem with posting in LJ -- I get rolling screens and frozen cursors a lot, so I crosspost from DW to prevent that, and the LJ-specific code doesn't work from there. Also, I'm curious about the several fen, such as yourself, who say the big pics cause them problems. I'm enough of a blog newbie that I don't know the nature of the problems. Would you educate me on this?

The biggest problem for me is that it extends the width of my friends page as I'm reading it, so that I either have to scroll side to side to read, or click on each individual friend's post. Sounds petty, but it's annoying. =D

Ah, no wonder I didn't know about that. I don't read on the friends page. I'm subscribed to notices for when friends post and then I go read it on their own journal page.

TYK.

Aw, that's too cute for words :D

That is a great card! You have given me an idea for one of my own.

Thanks!

Yays for you getting an inspiration! (I'd <3 to know more about it when it develops.)

I will keep you in the loop!

Yays! TYK for the explanation and for letting me know the fix worked.

Oh wow, that is truly adorable, and so creative! What a lovely gift!

I'm happy to see that you figured out the lj cut thing. Were you able to figure out the scrapbook as well? It can be very handy. If you're still having these lj troubles, maybe I can help you figure them out on Friday when you're here.

Pics currently hosted at Tinypic. Open to your teaching me more about the LJ scrapbook.
